Katharina Mayerhofer is a multidisciplinary fashion professional who bridges creative vision and technical execution. Based in Amsterdam and working across Europe, she has spent more than a decade shaping product development and production processes across the fashion supply chain, aiming to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to the often messy space between concept and manufacturing.

Her foundation is hands-on. Katharina trained as a pattern maker and seamstress before studying fashion design, building a rare combination of craft, technical precision, and design understanding. She then joined BYBORRE at an early stage, when the team was still just a handful of people. Over the course of seven years, she grew with the studio as it scaled to more than fifty employees, ultimately becoming Head of Atelier. In that role, she led the strategic and operational direction of the atelier across design, development, and production; served as the primary client contact for product realisation, and helped build supplier partnerships and scalable structures that supported BYBORRE’s growth.

In 2022, she founded Ground Support, an independent consultancy and full-service design, development, and production studio. Today, Katharina partners with both emerging and established brands across the product lifecycle: from translating early creative ideas into strong silhouettes and technically feasible constructions, to sourcing, sample development, production planning, and factory coordination. Her work is pragmatic and systems-oriented, combining deep technical expertise with process design, costing awareness, and cross-functional alignment to improve workflows and ensure smooth delivery from prototype to bulk.

Known for learning agility, broad cross-functional expertise, and an ability to integrate seamlessly into different teams, Katharina often works as an embedded specialist, supporting departments in transition, leading focused projects, or strengthening existing capabilities on-site, hybrid, or remotely. She brings a highly adaptable skillset to every project, helping brands build products and processes that are efficient, scalable, and ready for the real world.
